About Fishing Lives

Fishing Lives is a free public archive of fishing boats, crews and fishing communities from Britain and Ireland.

Every boat here carried people’s working lives — and most of those photographs are sitting in drawers, albums and lofts. This archive exists so they aren’t lost.

How it works
Anyone can browse the archive for free. Members can add boats, upload photographs and share memories. Every submission is checked by a moderator before it appears, and every photograph stays the copyright of the person who contributed it.

Who it’s for
Fishermen past and present, their families, boat enthusiasts, model makers, historians and anyone who grew up around a harbour.
